A busy weekend…

There are a few things going on this weekend that I didn’t get to put
in the paper this week.
All day Saturday—and I mean all day Saturday—the Relay for Life returns
to Northville. It takes place in Ford Field, which is off Griswold Street,
right where Northville Road bends and turns into Main Street.
It starts at 10 a.m. and there are different activities planned
throughout the 24-hour event. It’s really something to see, too—plenty of
action going on.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, the Northville Township police and fire
departments will square off in a charity game at Massey Field in Plymouth.
That’s at the juncture of Plymouth Road and Haggerty Road, across from
Unisys and next to the 35th District Court. Massey Field is an
award-winning facility itself; it’s worth a look.
Saturday night in Wayne, the Beat the Bulldozer concert series
continues at 6 p.m. at the Wayne Historic Theater on
Michigan Avenue.
It’s kind of a pain to get to right now, since the road resembles a
quarry pit more than a thoroughfare, but it’s worth it. Good music for a
good cause—restoring the old theater and hopefully improving the town at
the same time.
There’s lots to do and see, now that the bad weather is behind us.
